SPYSHOTS: Audi Q1 hiding under VW Tiguan body!

Audi Q1 mule 3

Hang on, that’s just a Volkswagen Tiguan, isn’t it? Well, that’s what the Group would like you to believe, but our European spy photographers weren’t fooled.

In fact, they could double up as detectives, for they point out the narrower track, slightly shorter wheelbase, Audi wheels and IN number plates (Ingolstadt, the home of Audi), inferring that the vehicle you see here is a mule for the upcoming Audi Q1.

The Audi Q1 is set to begin production in Ingolstadt next year. The sub-Q3 five-door SUV, based on the VW Golf and Audi A3‘s modular MQB platform, will fight the likes of the MINI Countryman. The grapevine suggests that front- and quattro all-wheel drive will be offered, while some engines will be shared with the Polo-based A1. There could also be a performance SQ1 later on.

    I think Tiguan is among the best common car from VW. (rarely see any on-sales)

    • Audi = Glorified VW. Everybody knows it don’t need to hiding under the body.

    Q3 = 216 888, so this Q1 can potentially be 180 888.

    Nobody wants Tiguan anymore, by then. Qecil, xcantiq and xman.

    To the untrained eye, you might not be able to catch it, but once you see it, you can’t unsee.

    It actually looks pretty funny with that short track and when you see how far inwards the wheels are LOL

    VW can’t clear the existing Tiguan stock and now asking Audi to clear it for them. Nice move indeed!
