Sultan Iskandar Highway (Lebuhraya Mahameru) closed due to road cracks, sedimentary soil deposition

The emergence of cracks as well as deposition of sedimentary soil along the left lane of the Sultan Iskandar Highway (formerly Lebuhraya Mahameru), in particular the portion of road just after the Jalan Damansara-Jalan Parliament turn-off, has caused the closure of said route as of 8 pm yesterday.

Che Shaari Abdullah of the Wangsa Maju Fire and Rescue department, told Bernama that the cracks first surfaced at around 2 pm yesterday due to road repair works. “The affected section of the road about 3 metres by 4.6 metres, was a risk to road users with the road sinking and worsening cracks because of the rain this afternoon.”

“We created a detour from Parliament to enter into the city centre for vehicles heading south,” he said. Currently, the said portion of the highway remains closed to the public as works to rectify the situation are still ongoing. “The road will reopen when it is no longer a danger to road users,” added Che Shaari.

I seriously think its high time to stop the damn MRTA project. so many things is happening and our fellow leaders are just not showing any initiative to improve things. cracks is just a sign , wait till it drops and many innocents will be killed for no reason than only want to take action is it ?

This not related to MRT. The damage is on the road n it is cause by road repair gone wrong..

Confirm is because of Najib’s MRT construction la. Collapsed few days ago but “fixed”

They were building something in the middle of the road and diverted the traffic into the emergency lane for weeks already.
