VIDEO: Lykan Hypersport joins Abu Dhabi police force

In the upper echelons of the police car world, there are fast ones (our “Helang” Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X being one of them) and there are outright flashy ones (Dubai’s 700 hp/960 Nm Brabus B63S-700 Widestar and Lamborghini Aventador are just a few of the examples). And then there’s the US$3.4 million (RM12.8 million) Lykan Hypersport, which has now officially joined the Abu Dhabi police fleet.

We’ve reported about this car before, but the video is the first time we’re seeing the mad, highly-luxurious hypercar getting a proper police-spec light bar, so now it really looks the part. Supercar owners in the Emirates will no doubt think twice before performing their hijinks around this crime-busting speed demon.

Built by Lebanese company W Motors, the Lykan Hypersport is touted as the Middle East’s first supercar, has titanium LED headlights (with 420 precious stones of the owners choosing), and is powered by a RUF-tuned Porsche 3.7 litre twin-turbo flat-six pushing out 751 PS and 960 Nm through a six-speed sequential transmission, enabling it to rocket to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds before hitting a 385 km/h top speed.

And if you truly have the dosh, it’s still listed on oto.my

Speaking of Helang, I haven’t seen any of those on the road for quite a while now. Guess they didn’t properly service it and its sitting in some balai collecting dust?

Yes, it is fast. But, its FRAGILE as a cop car. When u caught up to the runaway suspect, all he needs to do is crush into u and leave u immobile with his toyota hilux. Its only a joke, dont take it too seriously lol

Lol, as if they’d need this to catch a Hilux. Up to what speed can a Hilux do without tipping over at a corner?

  • Seems these days upstart car builders can come up with any body style due to availability of exotic superstrong lightweight materials and processes. Just slap in a ready-made supercar engine and other freely available parts. Mix and match to come up with an exotic custom supercar of your own. As long as you got the money.
