GALLERY: BMW F30 LCI 340i in Mediterranean Blue

BMW 340i

BMW has just released a new set of photos of its range-topping BMW 340i. These pictures show the sedan version sporting the Mediterranean Blue colour and the Dakota Oyster leather upholstery.

The BMW 340i replaces the existing 335i, and is powered by an uptuned 3.0 litre six-cylinder engine that churns out 322 hp and 450 Nm of torque. Mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, the 340i can achieve the century sprint in 5.1 seconds, and reach an electronically-governed top speed of 250 km/h.

This latest facelift exhibits a range of evolutionary changes, such as new LED lights, taillights with new internal graphics and slight revisions to the bumpers, which make the car 9 mm longer. There is an updated range of wheel designs on offer too, with sizes of up to 19-inches. The M Sport bodykit, though, remains unchanged.

On the inside, BMW says that new materials have been utilised to create a more upmarket feel, plus the addition of chrome accents that feature on the dashboard and door consoles as well. The Dakota Oyster leather for the lower part of the façade is also a nice touch.

Any idea when this 3 series LCI will arrive ? As usual will come in CBU then gotta wait another 6 months or so before CKD. So next year at least …. for budget conscious car buyer who is eyeing the base model 316i

If you really care so much about budget, might as well don’t go for a Bimmer. As a matter of fact, don’t go for any continental car at all.

    • Better go for “BMW of Asia” if you’re on a budget. Their car is as good as BMW, as safe as Volvo, not to mention designed by Italian. Why not?

Beautiful paint, reminds me of Alpina or BMW Individual paint. Hope it is made available on the CKD line up here.

The interior needs a lot of improvement and BMW said they made it better. Hopefully more soft touch areas and less hard plastic. The transmission center console is the crappiest spot in my car which is totally made by hard plastic =_=

Well, to be fair to BMW, the 3 Series isn’t exactly a car meant for luxury (that belongs to the C Class & the Lexus IS), which is why the interior is more function than form. The 3 Series is a driver’s car after all. So it wants you to feel everything the car feels. Hehe.

Problem is the soft touch material gets all sticky and disintegrated after a few years in hot Malaysian climate. They should consider alternate materials..

It took them more than one year to clear the f30 335i stock in Malaysia I heard, well below expectations
