Jaguar sure loves teasing the crowd with bits upon bits of images and clips of its first-ever SUV. The Jaguar F-Pace has now been unveiled, but not quite in the way one would expect – only its side profile can be seen.

The front of the F-Pace has pretty much been shown before, from its concealed debut at the 2015 Tour de France, wrapped in a ‘carbon texture’. The full car, however, is set to be unveiled two weeks before the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, with a reveal video to be available online on September 14.

Jaguar’s first “family sports car,” which will be built in Solihull, UK, is based on the C-X17 concept car. The all-wheel drive sport SUV’s chassis is a lightweight aluminium-intensive structure which the company calls the iQ[Al] architecture. Suspension-wise, the F-Pace will sport a double wishbone in the front and an multi link rear suspension.

Official engine options have yet to be confirmed. You can expect to see JLR’s usual supercharged 3.0 litre V6 and 5.0 litre V8 motors to be featured, perhaps alongside the new 2.0 litre Ingenium engine range as well.

U don’t need to show me the front and rear pics, I already know how it will look like since it looks the same as its sedan counterparts lol.

From the sideline pic, it looks to be quite a huge SUV and it will look quite menacing as it approaches from behind someone’s rear view mirror at high speed.

  • Solihull eh? Benefiting from Land Rover tech then? It’s JLR after all. Should sport bonafide offroader capabilities albeit oft unneeded and unused.
