Rezvani Beast Speedster – 300 hp Civic engine, 3.5s

California startup company, Rezvani has unveiled their latest creation, an open-top sports car which costs more than a Porsche Boxster Spyder and an Ariel Atom. Dubbed the Rezvani Beast Speedster, it’s slapped with a US$139,000 (RM596,000) price tag.

Underneath the hood of this Beast Speedster lies a 2.4 litre four-cylinder engine which is said to have been sourced from a Honda Civic Si coupe, oh, and it’s been supercharged too. As for power figures, the two-door sports car has a 300 hp in total, which allows it to sprint from 0-100 km/h in a mere 3.5 seconds.

A key contributor to the Speedster’s agility is its structure, it has a lightweight carbon fibre body that allows it to weigh just 748 kg. CEO Ferris Rezvani says that the focus that went into building the Beast Speedster was skewed more towards agility than speed.

“We really wanted to put the emphasis on agility over speed. The Speedster focuses on handling and pure open-top performance for the road,” the CEO said, comparing the Speedster to its 500 hp sibling called the Beast.

Inside, the Beast Speedster features “minimalist leather padding,” as the company puts it, alongside a couple of thinly cushioned carbon fibre seats with a three-point harness seatbelt, a carbon fibre steering wheel and a gear knob in the same composite.

Supercharging Japanese engines like Lotus. This time round does much better with 2400cc i-VTEC engine.

good, they learned a thing or two from lotus to use japanese engines, they are reliable…

but this thing won’t look out of place in a ‘speed racer’ movie… wont go wrong with racer X livery too…

its an awesome car to be seen in

Exterior, interior? not hard to do.
The core of a car is the engine and transmission. As I always said, you won’t go wrong with sushi cars.

Tired of these lightweight unaffordable products that cost more than mainstream sportscars. Anybody can come out with a proper machine if you sell with sky-high price. Would love to see a new player that can introduce a proper-single minded sportscar that have functional roof, RWD with limited slip diff, manual trans (or DSG) that is reliable, and equivalent to elise, MX-5 or BRZ/86.
