So what has The Rock been cookin’ lately? A partnership with Ford it seems. In a new video, the American auto brand has enlisted the wrestler cum actor as the leader of “the specialists at Ford.” In the 35 second ad, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is seen commanding the team like he usually does in his movies.
According to Ford, this is the first of a series that we’ll be seeing Johnson in. The company says that the campaign is to emphasise the importance of getting Ford vehicles serviced at authorised centres.
It’s no wonder why The Rock agreed to the role, as he stated that he has had a personal bond with Ford ever since he was a teenager. “My relationship with Ford began when I was 15 and bought a classic ’77 blue Thunderbird as my first car, and I’ve been a Ford man ever since,” he said.
The series is expected to be carried over into radio and digital formats along with social media space in time to come. Fitting to have the Ford F-150 and the big guy together, because he’s no “jabroni,” that’s for sure.
