Mercedes-Benz Malaysia and Cycle & Carriage Bintang unveil revamped Georgetown Autohaus in Penang

CCB Georgetown Autohaus-8

Fresh off the unveiling of its upgraded PJ Autohaus last week, Mercedes-Benz dealership Cycle & Carriage Bintang (CCB) has formally launched its revamped Georgetown Autohaus in Penang.

The outlet, located at 22, Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah, has been upgraded to the automaker’s new black corporate identity specifications and the global Mercedes-Benz Presentation System II (MPS II) showroom design, which is set to unify the look of 6,000 MB dealerships worldwide.

According to the company, the upgrading exercise took lots of preparation time as the dealership is housed in a heritage building protected by UNESCO. The facade couldn’t be touched, and structurally everything had to be maintained – the rework encompasses the entire front office of both sales and aftersales departments.

The 33,489 sq ft Autohaus features a showroom area capable of housing seven display vehicles, an upgraded customer lounge area and 14 mechanical work bays in the service area. A total of RM4 million was spent on the refurbishment, bringing CCB’s total investment in the northern market to RM20 million since 2011.

Cycle & Carriage Bintang CEO Datuk Wong Kin Foo said at the launch that the group’s other northern outlets in Juru and Bukit Tengah will also be given a visual overhaul as part of plans to upgrade all its dealerships to the new look.

Currently, the company has a presence in 11 locations nationwide, with seven 3S Autohaus, two 1S showrooms and two 2S service centres. At the end of this month, CCB is set to unveil its TREC KL outlet (next to the new Zouk), and this will be followed by the opening of another Autohaus in Cheras sometime in mid-year.
