The Bentley Continental GT Speed has been unveiled. Billed as the fastest production Bentley, the variant features more power, while a separate “Black Edition” sees a number of exterior and interior enhancements added on as well.
Power-wise, the twin-turbo 6.0 litre W12 engine has been tweaked to produce 642 PS (up from 635 PS) and 840 Nm of torque (up from 820 Nm). According to the company, the additional torque can be applied throughout the entire rev range thanks to re-optimisation of the boost control. According to Bentley, it takes a crew of 30 and over 12.5 hours to assemble the upgraded engine.
Continuous maximum torque delivery is now from 2,000 to 5,000 rpm. The Continental GT Speed now goes from 0-96 km/h (60 mp/h) in 3.6 seconds, 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and on to a top speed of 331 km/h.
On the Black Edition, the Continental’s characteristics have been refined and it’s available n both coupe and convertible body styles. Outside, it sports a high gloss black finish that can be found on the window openings and lamp bezels. The front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser can be specified in four different colours: Hallmark, Beluga, St James’ Red and a new Cyber Yellow.
Furthermore, customers can opt to colour-match the door mirrors if they so wish. A set of all-black 21-inch five spoke, directional wheels along with distinctive brake calipers, which can be had in red or black, complete the visual enhancements.
Inside, carbon-fibre is applied to the fascia, centre and roof consoles, while a dedicated Black Edition colour split has the seats and centre console bordered by contrasting leather. The leather is available in Porpoise, Beluga, Pillar Box Red and Cyber Yellow colours. Meanwhile, contrast stitching elaborates the diamond quilting of the doors and Mulliner GT Design seats.
