A total of 19 routes in which the Cityliner bus service plies in Kelantan are now back in service following a two-day service disruption, The Star reports.
Konsortium Transnasional Berhad (KTB) stated on Sunday that the routes were discontinued as the company was unable to sustain operational cost. The reason given was that it no longer had financial support from the government.
However, on Tuesday, the company said that the service was being resumed, adding that there was some financial backing for the buses to operate as usual. The U-turn decision was made due to intervention by the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) over the last four days.
“We have spoken to the company and they have agreed to resume operations,” said head of corporate communications of SPAD, Radha Warrier. She disclosed that the commission was stepping in to help KTB sort out its issues.
The following Cityliner routes have resumed service as normal:

omg…what buses are these…
In b4 why Gov shud pay compensation to private firms for money losing routes just to service the kampung grandma/grandpa. Better save the taxpayer money and have the bus only come once a week. That is the smart way of running Gov, not like BN/UMNO.
This whatever sisi-pad just target to make money for cronies and not for the benefit of the country. Monopoly is their strategy. Transport minister should step in and provide a better strategy. Issue license to individual bus operator solved lots of finance issue.
Umm. Licenses r issued to individual operators, just that they run fleet buses. Only the routes r determined by Gov. This is not same issue with taxi license that u r implying here.
Have they been good all this while?
For any Kelantanese, they’d remember a company called SKMK, later acquired by Transnational.
It’d weird for some to say that Kelantanese enjoys a pretty comprehensive bus service rendered by Citiliner, and the fleet is pretty decent, too.
They may be having the monopoly, but i reckon they’re doing pretty good.
Personally i wish them a good luck and really hope that they could find a solution to tackle this issue.
cukurrr rakyat kelantan kaya belaka tak pakai bas lagi!
