Mazda 3 – global production hits five million unit mark

Mazda has announced that total production of the Mazda 3 has reached the five million unit mark. The milestone was reached at the end of April, and covers all models of the 3 since production began 12 years and 10 months ago back in June 2003.

The first-gen BK was around until production halted in 2008, and it was eventually replaced by the rather short-lived BL, which arrived on the scene in 2010. Currently, the 3 is in its third-generation form, having debuted in mid-2013, with a facelift just around the corner.

In Malaysia, the BM is being sold in both sedan and five-door hatchback forms, both being locally-assembled in Kulim, Kedah. Available variants are the GL Sedan, high-spec Sedan and a single trim Hatchback version, the CKD versions having premiered in April last year. The car had originally made its debut in Malaysia in March 2014, with the sedan going on sale here in CBU form.

The automaker says that the 3 is very much a core model for it, accounting for approximately one third of the company’s annual sales volume. Currently, the vehicle is manufactured at the company’s Hofu Plant in Japan, Changan Mazda Automobile in China, AutoAlliance in Thailand and Mazda de Mexico Vehicle Operation in Salamanca, Mexico. The car is also assembled in Vietnam.

Mazda 3 is NOT for Driver neiher Rear Passenger. Driver seat limited leg room(width). Front seperator not align to center of car, measured Driver side Width is smaller than Front-Passenger Width. You will found your balls similar like compressed berger. NOT believe it, go measure by measurement tape!!!

I think you should wait, because the facelift might have better noise insulation. The current one noise is quite high. The arm rest also will be more cormfortable and practicle.

Plenty of available stock after June 11, 2016. All new Honda Civic Generation 10 will cannibalise most of the potential buyers of Mazda3.
