In conjunction with Hari Raya celebrations, Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) has announced that it will be deploying six additional Komuter trains from July 1-10.
However, Bernama reports that the extra trains will only be plying one route, that of Butterworth-Padang Besar-Butterworth. According to KTM Komuter general manager Azsnidah Shah Shahari, the additional trains will reduce the waiting time for passengers on the route from two hours down to one.
“On normal days, we provide 14 train services, involving the three routes, namely Butterworth-Padang Besar-Butterworth, Butterworth-Gurun-Butterworth, and Butterworth-Kamunting-Butterworth, but for Aidilfitri this year, we will provide six additional trains for the Butterworth-Padang Besar-Butterworth route,” she said.
“Passengers on normal days number around 3,000 daily, but this is expected to double during the festive season. It is hoped that with the 20 trains that will be made available from July 1 to 10, the increased number of passengers will be well accommodated,” she added.

I’m going to sponsor 100 train sets for KTMB, all pink colour in honour of my name to add frequency. A special Raya service will be operating in Raya’s eve. The train will be hauled by my 9 year old son’s Bugati Veyron all the way to Kota Bharu from KL Sentral in 2 hours!
