Before Mercedes-Benz bids goodbye to the second-generation (W218) CLS, the carmaker has released a Final Edition package for the iconic model, for both body types – four-door coupe and Shooting Brake.
The Final Edition includes an AMG Line exterior pack, whereby the CLS gains a diamond radiator grille in chrome, an AMG bodykit consisting of a front apron, side sill panels and rear apron, as well as a twin- angular tailpipes and 19-inch AMG multi-spoke wheels in a black, high-sheen finish (18-inch AMG five-spoke light-alloy wheels are optional).
Inside, the car gets a black leather upholstery with light-coloured stitching, and the multicontour front seats are heated and adjustable in a variety of ways. Finishing touches include a sports, flat-bottom steering wheel wrapped with leather with DINAMICA microfibre in the grip area, shift paddles in silver chrome and brushed stainless steel sports pedals.
Other equipment found on the Final Edition include Multibeam LED headlamps (with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus), a sliding sunroof and heat-insulating privacy glass. There’s also “Final Edition” lettering on the fenders, as well as the front floor mats so your neighbours know you’ve got a Final Edition CLS.
In terms of pricing, the Final Edition package will see 8,211 euros (RM36,075) being added to the CLS’ base price, and can be ordered in any colour offered for the CLS. Additionally, six different trim elements and all engine variants are also available to customers.
The second-gen Mercedes CLS shares the same platform with the previous W212 E-Class, which has since entered a new generation (W213). A next-gen CLS is said to be in development, and expected to arrive in the market sometime in 2018.
