Shell Malaysia celebrates 125 years with art project

2016 Shell Malaysia Celebrating 125 years -2

With a presence in Malaysia going back to 1891, Shell Malaysia is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. As part of the celebrations, Shell has launched “Celebrating 125 years”, an art project bringing together famous artists including Datuk Lat, Cheeming Boey, Sabek, Yap Hanzhen, Amey Sheikh Alu, Caryn Koh, Tom Powell and Dmojo.

The project will see 15 murals from the artists placed at selected Shell stations across the nation, with at least one mural on display in each state. Based on themes of Malaysian unity, diversity, conservation and depictions of famous Malaysian landmarks, the murals are a reflection of society’s common values, a tenet Shell considers part of its DNA.

Celebrating 125 years will be one of several events to commemorate Shell’s anniversary. A three-day charity drive titled #pump123 in conjunction with the Hari Raya celebrations saw one sen from every litre of fuel sold being donated to help disadvantaged children, while a series of videos called #StationStories will be released over the next two months, featuring personal anecdotes from Shell customers.

“Shell has journeyed with Malaysians for 125 years, and together we have achieved many firsts in the industry. We aim to continue driving the Malaysian pioneering spirit, which has been integral to the country’s success,” said managing director of Shell Malaysia Trading Datuk Azman Ismail.

Hello Shell Malaysia, why don’t you celebrate your 125 years by giving FREE petrol to everyone on this special day?

What for we see murals and gambar?

Also, your #pump123 which gave 1 sen per litre for 3 days to charity is a disgrace.

Shell Malaysia makes billions per month in sales. You should be giving at least 50 sen or RM1 per litre sold to charity and that also, for a month and not 3 days.

So malu. Such a rich country, you give 1 sen per litre. So, I fill 50 litres, you give 50 sen?

Obviously Shell makes more from 50 litres sold. I would say you make about RM50 for 50 litres sold. But you can only give 50 sen (1 sen per litre)???
