A total of 151 summons were issued by the police for various traffic offences under Op Samseng Jalanan, Bernama reports. The operation, which ran over the weekend, took place at the Puchong Barat Toll Plaza on the Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP).

The aim of the operation was to curb street gangsters, track down stolen motorcycles as well as wanted individuals around the area, Subang Jaya police chief ACP Mohammad Azlin Sadari. He said that 253 locals were screened, and four persons were detained after testing positive for methamphetamine and tetrahydrocannabinol.

“Apart from that, 230 motorcycles were checked, in which 51 were seized for various offences including stolen motorcycles, using fake registration numbers, no driving licence and road tax,” he told the national news agency.

A total of six officers and 38 personnel from the Bukit Aman Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department as well as five police officers and 18 personnel from the Subang Jaya police headquarters, along with eight auxiliary police personnel assigned to Litrak, were involved in the operation.
