PLUS offering 20% toll rebate in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha and Malaysia Day, releases TTA

highway

Good news for those making the journey back to the hometown next week. PLUS has announced that users of the North-South Expressway (NSE), North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), Malaysia-Singapore Second Crossing (Linkedua) and the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway (BKE) will be able to enjoy a 20% toll rebate in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha and Malaysia Day holidays.

This will be for Class 1 users (light vehicles with two axles except taxis) paying toll electronically via PLUSMiles cards, Touch n Go cards or SmartTAGs on September 12 (next Monday) and September 16 (next Friday).

You will still be required to pay the full amount – the rebate will be in the form of toll reload that can be redeemed when one reloads his/her TnG card at PLUS customer service centres between October 15 and January 14, 2017. Take note that the toll rebate will not apply at the following toll plazas – Tanjung Kupang, Bukit Kayu Hitam, Bangunan Sultan Iskandar and Penang Bridge.

Based on the travelling pattern of past festive seasons, PLUS expects the traffic on the NSE to increase by 15% to 1.6 million vehicles every day between September 9 and September 19, compared to 1.4 million on normal days. The highway operator has released a Travel Time Advisory (TTA), attached above.

“We advise the public to plan their journey based on the TTA. Based on our studies and observation, traffic was generally smooth when more drivers followed the TTA during previous festive seasons,” said PLUS MD Datuk Noorizah Hj Abd Hamid.

Why do the rebate can only be obtained at Plus customer service centres? Why not other point of reload that are easily accessible (Petronas, toll booths)? More often than not, people don’t have much time to go to Plus service centers. Plus is the clear winner here, and consumers are the losers. Clever way of making sure the customers fail to claim their rights.

    • More to attract pipu to leave early than claim the rebate. Main purpose is to reduce traffic jam, not to dedak the users

Already stated above. Its for Plusmiles TnG. The one at Petronas are for those normal TnG. Adding more service to the now already congested at the topup TnG toll booth will make the queue much worse. Talk before think.

Stupid PLUS discount that needed to be claimed at their service centre at a latter date. If u are sincere n giving discount, give on the spot, not this kind of wayang a. k. a corporate stunt.
