Ford goes to SEMA with six modified Focus, Fiestas

Ahead of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show which starts November 1, Ford is previewing six customised vehicles that will be on display at the Las Vegas event, comprising a Focus ST, two Fiesta ST and three Focus RS models.

Kicking things off is a widebody-kitted Fiesta ST, which has been given a new turbocharger kit, Cobb Accessport V3 ECU tuning kit and a new exhaust system to “significantly increase horsepower” from the hatchback’s 1.6 litre engine, which produces 197 hp in standard USDM guise.

The car’s chassis hasn’t been overlooked – it also receives upgrades such as a Mountune limited-slip differential, JRI coilovers and Wilwood six-piston brakes. New wheels, bodykit and a revised interior round off the aesthetics of this package.

A red-and-black Focus ST is next, here outfitted with a Mishimoto Performance air intake, new intercooler, VMS Racing dual chamber catch can, custom tune, Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust and a coilover suspension kit. Retro door graphics give it a distinct look, as do the forged 19-inch wheels wrapped in Continental tyres.

The blue, Cinemotive-crafted Fiesta ST offers a more subtle take on customisation, though no less distinct. It receives a new bodykit, lowered coilover suspension and new wheels, along with “numerous performance modifications” including a front mount intercooler.

The grey Focus RS seen here with orange accents has been customised with numerous powertrain upgrades, including an uprated turbocharger from BorgWarner, intercooler, cold air intake, methanol injection, Wavetrac front differential and a one-piece carbon-fiber driveshaft.

No output figures are available, though these modifications should see the grey-and-orange Focus RS comfortably top the standard car’s figures. As with the others here, this Focus RS includes coilover suspension, aftermarket wheel and select interior changes.

This Roush Performance Focus RS does however provide engine output figures – a formidable 500 hp. Extensive engine modifications have been carried out to that end, and also includes aerodynamics enhancements such as a front splitter, new rear wing, extended side skirts and enlarged air intakes.

One more modified Focus RS also makes the list, with a special racing livery plus a front splitter and side skirts from Triple R Composites. On par with the SEMA course, this car also gains a coilover suspension kit by H&R and wheels by O.Z. Racing.
