The Alfa Romeo brand, perhaps more than most others, trades strongly on emotion rather than cold, raw statistics and figures; this much is apparent as shown by this video featuring the Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV, named after the Stelvio Pass in Europe.
With a range-topper as potent as the 505 hp, 600 Nm 2.9 litre V6 Quadrifoglio which manages 0-96 km/h in 3.9 seconds, it perhaps makes short work of looking good on screen, though it hasn’t stopped the Italian automaker from giving the footage a theatrical, music video-esque feel. Makes one wonder what the video could be if it was expanded beyond a mere minute, doesn’t it?
As for the SUV itself, the top Quadrifoglio variant is joined by a 2.0 litre, direct-injection, turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 280 hp and 400 Nm of torque, the former also featuring in the Giulia Quadrifoglio; the regular version of the Giulia sedan is powered by a 2.2 litre four-cylinder turbodiesel with 150 hp at 4,000 rpm and 380 Nm at 1,500 rpm.
