Toyota FJ Cruiser gets Final Edition farewell in Japan

Toyota FJ Cruiser gets Final Edition farewell in Japan

The unique-looking Toyota FJ Cruiser gets a send-off in Japan, with mostly cosmetic updates for its Final Edition run. It sports a model-specific beige exterior colour, which also applies to its water-repellent seat upholstery and central cluster trim garnish. Large 20-inch aluminium wheels and side steps also feature on the special edition.

The sole model variant for the FJ Cruiser Final Edition features the 1GR-FE 4.0 litre V6 petrol engine, and its 268 hp and 380 Nm of torque are channeled to a part-time four-wheel drive system through a five-speed Super ECT automatic transmission. It’s priced at 3,492,720 yen (RM133,973) in Japan.

What do you think of this Final Edition, and the FJ Cruiser in general? Should there be a new version of this SUV?

There is no way a Lexus can go ultraluxurious. I think one day if Toyota goes ultraluxury, it will be only the Century. Mercedes cannot go ultraluxury, but Maybach can.

How to proceed? How do you do that?

When Toyota Wish first appeared in 2003, it also looked weird. but thats not strange with Toyota philosophy though. They have had Toyota Yaris before, then WiLL and WiLL Cypha.

FJ is no exception, while it is not a popular car it still has its very own follower. but as the norm with Toyota, any car that had a slowing demand will be axed from production. which had happened to the Supra at one time, the MRS, the Caldina and even the Harrier.

    • Its a expensive Toyota, people buy it because they find it nice and reliable, while some people hate it because those who have the money to buy another german car bought this instead of another German car which wouldve been their choice if they had money and therefore envious at the success of others.

I rather drive the old classic FJ than this new but pretentious and confused FJ.

    Bye-bye, FJ
