Continental Tyres Malaysia (CTM) is hosting its first ever carnival for end consumers. Spread across three weekends over three cities in Peninsular Malaysia, the “Your Whee-lly Fun Day” roadshow kicked off at Juru Auto City, Penang last weekend and will head to 1 Utama (this weekend, May 13-14) and Angsana Mall JB (May 20-21) next.

The carnival will have activities such as a kids corner and ladies corner where visitors are able to take part in challenges with giveaways. With a minimum purchase of any two Continental tyres (from April 1 onwards), visitors will get an exclusive driving experience at the event, plus the chance to enter a lucky draw.

Free tyre safety checks will be given to visitors, who can also purchase tyres on the spot. The German tyremaker will showcase its new ComfortContact CC6 and UltraContact UC6 models at the event. In addition, Hot FM and One FM radio troopers will be present at the PJ and JB locations with their usual games and freebies.

“This carnival was an idea we thought about for a while now where we want to reach out to our consumers in a more personal manner. Thus, ‘Your Whee-lly Fun Day’ was born where it is a day creating awareness on tyre safety through a fun and educational approach. Plus it is a family friendly event where everyone is welcome to learn more about Continental as a brand and what we have to offer to Malaysian society” said Cameron Wilson, MD of CTM.

I love Continental Tyres. Very reasonably priced. But I noticed nowadays they botak very fast. Abt 30,000KM already botak despite little braking and rotating my tyres.

    Is quality going down?

With tires you either go for performance or mileage. The average consumer will want to have both. The french focuses more on mileage which makes many think their tire is better and longer lasting, but don’t forget our tropical roads are always slippery. For road users who puts more emphasize on grip and aquaplaning on wet roads, you would find these very lasting french tires will turn into banana skin. So take your pick. Just like the females, you wont get both sides of the coin in a tire. The Germans have their own set of rubbers who give you premium ride, grip and handling same like the premium french brand. Like everything else in this world, you get what you pay for. It depends on your lifestyle category. However, safety is not to be compromised. If you buy banana skins, make sure you keep to the speed limit all the time. As for me, I would pay for a good pair of shoes for my daily use under the rain.

Tires are the MOST important component of a vehicle bcos its the only contact point that will help stop the vehicle from crashing.

Any tire that is New(accredited) is better than a worn-out tire. That is One component we should Not “compromise” on & yet we still can see many drivers taking a risk in our current raining days.

Continental Tires are one of the Most acceptable &/or preferred brand in the 16 to 18 inches segment where most Mid size cars, MPV & SUV use due to its reliability.

    Mikey’s right.
Contact surface area for 4 x tires can total up to be smaller than a A4 size paper.

Sean, what size tires are you looking for ? If you want to save a few ringgits, try not to go for runflats although they are highly recommended.

The german and french brands has their premium range which does not disappoint at all.
Rule of thumb, what last long will not give good grip and water dispersing features.
