The updated W205 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been spotted undergoing on-road trials, and now it’s the turn of its high-performance variant, the Mercedes-AMG C 63 sedan and coupe. Changes are relatively mild for this mid-lifecycle update, with exterior body camouflage limited to the front fascia and bumper, and rear bumper.
In front, the concealed fascia hints at a variation of the twin-blade grille, while certain patches of black tape hide what could be a sharper, more angular set of creases and lines as compared to the bumper on the current AMG C 63. As with the regular version, the hotter AMG is also expected to receive the new Multibeam LED headlamps, though those haven’t appeared on this test mule.
Moving to the back, the AMG C 63 sedan will also receive a revised tail lamp design, though this appears to differ slightly from the one on the standard facelifted model. The signature AMG quad-trapezoidal exhaust pipe finishers are also present here on the facelift mule, though concealing foil on the rear bumper suggests there will be changes in this area, as is also the case for the coupe spotted.
Under the hood, the Mercedes-AMG C 63 s expected to carry on with its 4.0 litre biturbo V8 engine driving the rear wheels, though no exact specifications for its mid-life update are known yet. Interior images of the AMG model are also yet to surface, however if the updated regular C-Class is something to go by, expect the appearance of the new steering wheel with a smaller, round centre boss.
