Updated for 2017 is the Honda CB500XA ABS, which comes in three new colours at a price of RM35,391, including GST but excluding road tax, insurance and registration. The new colours for the upcoming model year are Asteroid Black Metallic, Candy Rosy Red, and Pearl Horizon White.
As Honda’s dual-purpose middleweight offering, the CB5000XA is designed for commuting and daily riding duties. Carrying a 471 cc, parallel-twin fed by Honda’s PGM-FI, the CB500XA is said to put out 47 hp at 8,500 rpm and 43 Nm at 7,000 rpm with power getting to the ground via a six-speed gearbox.
Standard on the CB500XA is ABS with hydraulic calipers on single-discs doing the braking front and rear, at 320 mm and 240 mm diameter, respectively. Suspension at the front is with a conventional telescopic fork, at 41 mm diameter, and at the back is a Prolink monoshock with 9 stage pre-load adjustment.
Weight for the Honda CB500XA is claimed to be 198 kg, and seat height is set at 810 mm. Inside the engine, the piston crowns are shaped similarly to the Honda CBR1000RR, in order to reduce piston “noise”.
LED headlights and tailights light the way, the CB5000XA comes with a two-year or 20,000 km manufaturing warranty, whichever comes first. The 2017 Honda CB500XA will be in Honda Impian showrooms from August 9, as will be the standard model Honda CB500X at RM31,893.

Wow, new exhaust. Are we the first country to get it? In the last cb500 series facelift/update, the F and N were the only ones which got a new exhaust.
But 198kg is really too much, same as other 650cc bikes in the same class.
Nope, indonesia and some countries already got it few months ago. It gets the same update as the F and N version including exhaust and footrest.
However, the ‘new engine’ is still the same silver color. If you look at all the new honda’s updated engine, all of em get gold /bronze crankcase and top head. Even the 650 get the same color updated engine.
