‘RR’ plate series rakes in RM12.2 million for JPJ Perlis

Earlier this month, it was reported that the ‘RR’ vehicle number plate had become the most lucrative plate series for JPJ Perlis, taking in RM7.2 million to overtake the previous collection for the ‘RM’ plate series.

The final figure, as it turns out, is much higher – the state’s road transport department has collected RM12.2 million in tenders for the particular vehicle registration plate, Bernama reports. This well eclipses the ‘RM’ money plate, which took in RM7.1 million for the department.

According to JPJ Perlis liaison officer Mohd Tarmizi Ghazali, the ‘RR’ tenders – which closed on June 19 – also saw the highest number of bidders compared to previous tender exercises.

“The interest shown by fans of the plate number “RR” was exceptional, and the amount collected is the biggest for JPJ Perlis,” he said. He added that the golden numbers (two to 10) raked in RM2.6 million.

Do state government get some money from JPJ for the numbers that are bid?

Government collects so much of money but yet, our hospitals now have cut down in drugs. Many say, cannot give the drugs free anymore. Some hospitals got no funding for even blood test also.

Our schools and universities got no funding to do proper teaching also. Got still schools begging the government to even put fans in their classrooms, whatmore asking for projector and teaching aids.

So where all this JPJ money going?

    • JPJ money goes back to the state JPJ that collects it. Nothing to do with money for skools or hospital that gov is currently subsidising incredible amounts so far.
