Ford Focus RS and ST get dressed up for 2017 SEMA

Ford is bringing a quartet of kitted out C346 Focus performance models to the 2017 SEMA show, which runs at the end of October. Three are Focus RS units, with a lone ST facelift in the mix. The first RS is the “Triathlete,” created by VMP Performance.

A matte black finish with custom airbrush art by Chris Cruz Artistry and lightweight carbon fibre bits from Anderson Composites lead the exterior enhancements for the car, which sits on Forgestar CDF5 deep concave 19-inch wheels finished in matte black. Inside, the car features Ford carbon fibre accessories and a Brey-Krause custom bolt-in harness bar and a five-point harness from Simpson Racing.

Performance suspension and powertrain upgrades include an Air Lift-Performance series suspension, Ford Performance cat-back exhaust and shirt-throw shifter, an uprated Levels Performance intercooler, Cobb Tuning carbon fibre cold-air intake and Accessport tuner. Also finding its way on are a Turbosmart internal wastegate acutator and a Kompact dual port blow-off valve.

The second Focus RS is fitted out by Universal Technical Institute, and its creators say that the wheels, tyres, brakes and suspension have been upgraded for increased feedback and sharper steering response.

Exterior-wise, the car, which sits on 19-inch Rotiform wheels, also features Anderson Composite CF styling elements, finished with Axalta paint in Pennzoil yellow. Inside, carbon fibre is to be found again, and performance mods include a FullRace intercooler, piping and intake as well as a Ford Performance exhaust and short-throw shifter.

The third offering is called the Focus RS Rally Revival, and as its name suggests, is pretty much a homage to the discipline. A host of Rally Innovations R4S items – from splitters and diffusers to a rally wing and mud flaps – go on, and Avery intense blue/3M storm gray vinyl wrap with a R4S graphic scheme make for a striking visual presence.

Inside, the Rally gets Sparco Evo race seats and a Rally Innovations custom four-point roll cage, among other things. In keeping with the theme, the rear seats have been removed. Performance bits include an RS-R coilover suspension, Eibach front/rear sway bars, Mountune high-flow induction kit/upgraded intercooler, along with a Borla three-inch catted down pipe and a Ford Performance cat-back exhaust.

Lastly, the ST, which has been customised by Blood Type Racing. Among the exterior add-ons are SoCal Garage Works wide body fender flares and a Rally Innovations splitter kit/rear hatch wing, and the car is finished in BASF Midnight Purple III paint.

Inside, Sabelt GT621L carbon fibre racing seats and four-point harnesses go on along with a SoCal CF steering wheel, a roll bar and a BTR custom rear storage compartment for a camera and drone. As for performance enhancements, the Blood Type ST features a BorgWarner EFI 7163 turbo and FullRace turbo kit, a host of Mishimoto bits and, like on the RS specials, a Ford Performance exhaust and short shifter.
