Next-gen Volvo S60 teased again, to debut June 20

Volvo has released another teaser for its forthcoming S60 sedan, ahead of its slated debut on June 20. Here, this teaser video offers a close-up view of the S60’s grille which also appeared in the previous teaser, before cutting to a close-up of the front bumper’s lower edge, showing a design that is closer to that of the Polestar 1 than the V60, particularly in the corners where the air intakes are located.

To recap the details of the S60 known thus far, we know that the S60 will wear a slightly different face from its V60 sibling courtesy of a different grille and the aforementioned front bumper, as well as Volvo’s signature ‘Thor’s Hammer’ LED daytime running lights. The sedan naturally also does without the V60’s roof rails, and the windows, roof and sunroof glass are redesigned as well.

As a Volvo first, the S60 will be the first model from the Swedish brand to benefit from its new Polestar Engineered upgrade programme. This will bring revisions to the wheels, brakes, suspension and engine control unit courtesy of Polestar’s performance engineering expertise, and models which receive the Polestar Engineered treatment will be postioned above R-Design products.

The S60 will be offered in T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid guise, while T5 and T6 petrol-powered options can be expected, too. Volvo has said that the new S60 will no longer employ diesel power. Until the Volvo S60’s full unveiling in a few days’ time, do you like what you’ve seen of it so far?

The reason BMW have a “M” badge & Mercedes have a AMG badge is to distinguish between the normal BMW/Mercedes.

Looks like Volvo is following what the Germans is doing by having the Polestar Engineered treatment to enhance the looks &/or performance to maximize profits. Smart move Volvo
