car companies use motorsports as a brand building exercise, to inject some excitement into the brand, to create something that toyota owners and toyota fans look forward to supporting. Usually, race cars are based on regular models that people buy and use, especially young buyers. the road car doesnt have to be a performance car to be converted into a race car. its a formula used by car manufacturers for a very very long time.

It shouldn’t be an issue, using a race prep car based on bread n butter model is norm. It is enjoyable to watch this kind of race similar to previous Satria Gti one make race and Saga race. The actual grassroot level of race.

To umw Toyota. Ppl don’t want to watch. They want to participate, but without buying the actual car (es evident in your total sales for the past 3 years). Why not, in certain tracks like senang (maybe the north track) u let the public to participate a time attack in your vios. Same thing like what Jeremy clarkson did in top gear UK. Everybody gets the same car, same spec. Let them train for 2 laps then 2 rounds of time attack. Then list the top 40 drivers with the best times. I bet many of them are faster than you celebrities, some maybe faster than professional racers. I can’t prove anything here, try it.

    Toyota Customer: Hey Toyota
    Toyota Malaysia Mgmt: What?
Toyota Customer: You know how to sell more cars better and make customers happy. How about selling performance pack with warranty that makes the car go faster and equipped with all latest techs in terms of safety and speed for a decent price. A little more caring and understanding from your SC and agents towards us will go a long way as well.
Toyota Malaysia Mgmt: Oh I get it, you mean like cheap knock off stickers and plastics on your car for premium prices?
    Toyota Customer: No I mean..
Toyota Malaysia Mgmt: And promoting some unknown dangerous car races among overpaid unknown and unskill celebs?
Toyota Customer: No what I mean is..
Toyota Malaysia Mgmt:In vios covered in hideous looking stickers and gears that will definitely not help our customers? In live TV shows?
Toyota Customer: No what i said is…
Toyota Malaysia Mgmt: Thats a fantastic idea. Need not reduce cost or add value to our cars and customers sommore get famous at the same time for selling cheap stickers and plastic.
    Toyota Customer: Oh God..
    Toyota Japan: Nani atenu….

Aiman Tino behind the wheel? Seriously?? Why not put a number of high profile prisoners in the highly modified Vios equipped with weapons. Last person survive will win.
