Melaka to launch free bus service on August 20

The Melaka state government has announced that it will be launching its free bus service on August 20. According to Bernama, the service will ply the Melaka Sentral-Hospital, Melaka-Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) and Melaka Sentral-Melaka Transit Market routes in the city.

State public works, transport and public amenities committee chairman Mohd Sofi Abd Wahab said that the free bus service will operate from 8 am to 6 pm daily. The service will be managed by state-owned subsidiary Panorama Melaka.

He said that three of the buses plying the routes will be natural gas vehicle (NGV) units, in line with the state’s objectives of implementing green technology. He added that the free bus service is an initiative by the new state government to encourage the use of public transport as well as provide for the well-being of the people, especially those in rural communities.

Bagi bas percuma, cakap benefit warga asing; tak bagi, cakap kerajaan tak buat apa-apa untuk rakyat. Orang sekarang susah nak puas hati.

Tak apa. Kan Bangala/indon/nepal yg membaiki paip bocor & bersihkan sampah sarap yg di buang oleh masyarakat.
Tanpa mereka, siapa yg buat kerja keras membangunkan, menjaga condo & memajukan negara kita?! Kan itu satu sumbangan juga?!

I used to live in Melaka, and all I can say that, it will benefit foreigners more. Especially indonesians and banglas.

One question bro? Do U have a problem with Bangalas or Indon? They have come a long way here to “cari makan” ma. If they are rowdy or do not follow our law, by all means report & deport them.

  • More public transports instead of Perotiga.

But the problem is the Indons, Banglas and others will use it. Locals won’t want to use it out of fear or no place in bus. How?

      What a stupid excuse.

U so terrer arr cannot share bus with foreigners?

Singaporeans share busses wwith foreigners, including Bangladeshis & Indonesians and they hardly ever complain.

Because the foreigners there know how to behave. One wrong move, deported.

Here they take over businesses and behave like they own the country! Understand!!

Thing is, historically, even foreigners that live here for certain amount of time can become PR or citizens one day. What you are talking about involves a small percentage of them, not all. If my ancestors all thought like you, maybe you wouldn’t be here right now… Ever thought of that?
“take over businesses and behave like they own the country!”… How funny.

Malaysians are always a class or 2 higher than others. How can you expect Royal Blood like us to share a bus with those that are doing the dirty work like cleaning our Royal sewer, throwing our Royal trash, sweeping our Royal street, building our Royal Condo, and licking some of our Royal balls? How dare you even mention that? We are the All-mighty Ma-lay-sian…

  • The service is meant for Malaysian only. Each passenger has to show their MyKad to be able to take the free ride. For those without MyKad, they’ll be charged according to their destination. This was reported in the news.
