Mercedes-Benz Malaysia today launched a new range-topping variant for the updated W213 E-Class line-up called the E 350 AMG Line. Priced at RM399,888, the E 350 joins the E 200 SportStyle Avantgarde and E 300 Exclusive Line, which you can check out here.
The E 350 packs a mild hybrid powertrain that consists of a new M264 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission, 48-volt electrical system, belt-driven starter-alternator and an electric water pump.
The M264 mill (now with twin-scroll turbos) replaces the E-Class’ previous M274 unit, and in this variant, churns out 299 hp at 5,800 rpm and 400 Nm of torque from 3,000-4,000 rpm. Meanwhile, the starter-alternator is capable of providing a momentary boost of 14 hp/150 Nm at engine speeds of up to 2,500 rpm. It is also used to support other functions like energy recuperation (up to 12 kW under braking) and coasting (gliding with automatic engine switch-off).
The powertrain, along with car’s electric power steering and standard Dynamic Body Control suspension (first appearance in Malaysia) is linked to the Dynamic Select system that allows drivers to adjust the characteristics of these systems depending on the drive mode selected. Performance-wise, the E 350 will take 5.9 seconds to complete the sprint from zero to 100 km/h, and it will hit 250 km/h.
In terms of equipment, the E 350 comes with the AMG Line package, which is further enhanced by the Night package on the exterior. Multibeam LED headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus and 19-inch AMG five-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels (previously 20-inch units for the then range-topping E 300) are also default fitments here.
Moving inside, you’ll find AMG Line Nappa leather upholstery, Artico leather lining, metal-weave trim, an AMG multifunction sports steering wheel in Nappa leather, and black piano-lacquer trim on the centre console.
The kit list also includes an ambient lighting system, Thermotronic climate control system, panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable front seats with four-way lumbar support and memory function, COMAND Online infotainment system, Burmester sound system, wireless charging, as well as support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Lastly, the suite of safety, convenience and driver assist systems on the E 350 include a 360-degree camera system, Active Parking Assist, adaptive brake lights, Keyless-Go, Hands Free Access and Driving Assistant Package. The last item is a suite of systems that comprises Pilot Distance Distronic (adaptive cruise control with stop & go), Active Lane Keeping Assist (semi-autonomous driving), Active Blind Spot Assist and autonomous emergency braking.
The interior especially the dashboard is really nice
Yeah. Compared to Audi’s utterly boring and uninspiring dashboard, this looks like it fits the price.
Hidup DAP+ ! DAP Driving Assistant Package.
6 years battery warranty? Thank you
Dashboard sebijik macam lori HINO 3 tan tahun 2010. a very good inspiration for mercedes
“COMAND Online infotainment system”
Eh, not using MBUX/GKUI system?
that’s for the next platform (should be W214)
MBUX introduced in A-class on 2018, should trickle down to the rest of the platform thereafter.
Maybe a facelift will receive it? Since the facelifted GLC also received the MBUX (but not the facelifted C Class).
Mercedes….. Please give us 4matic for this E class.
Power without handling is useless
GG so you have to fork out 400k for the driver assist package. If you want those driver assist features and don’t mind a cheaper sound system and no panaromic roof then the S90 Momentum coming in at 60k which is surprisingly only 8k more than the base spec E200 with nothing in it.
I thought it was 48 valve..48 volt it seems..hahahaha
That’s a pretty good price for a highly speced E Class. Volvo and BMW Malaysia must be very worried. Admitedly, the 5 Series is a better car to drive than the E Class. But you can’t overlook the amazing specsheet on the E350. Enthusiasts will probably still gravitate towards the Beemer. Those who want style, to show they’ve made it, and get loads of high tech goodies, will get the E350. Everybody else will just get an SUV. Haha.
Overpriced! better buy 5 Series than E350 EQ Boost.
Most buy a Bimmer cos they can’t afford a Merc.
Nuff said.
Andddd you probably drive a proton persona… bye
Does this car qualify for the hybrid tax exemption?
the mild hybrid battery costing around 10k..interior design much better than glc 300 coupe..price the same..better power output..
Just ditch the mild hybrid and give us the rest of the specs. In 5 years time, sure will laku in used car segment.
