Cupra, the sub-brand of Seat, is teasing a new SUV concept that will be unveiled at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Called the A-SUVe, the show car is said to preview the company’s first pure-electric model as part of a six-model offensive.

The short video doesn’t reveal a whole lot, but it appears the concept follow in the footsteps of the BMW X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe by blending the attributes of a coupe with the body of an SUV. Based on what is visible, the vehicle certainly has a sleek profile, with distinct lighting units at the front and rear.

In the case of the latter, there are LED taillights linked by a light strip that features an illuminated Cupra logo in the middle – the logo is also found at the front. Due to the presence of an electric powertrain, there’s no need for a large intake at the front, and exhaust pipes at the rear. However, there is an emphasis on aerodynamics, with specific vents and a rear diffuser to help channel the air.

The A-SUVe will reportedly ride on Volkswagen’s MEB platform, although no details on performance have been provided as of yet. Given Cupra’s standpoint that this is a high-performance vehicle, expect some powerful electric motors to be used.
