Land Rover UK has announced the availability of the Range Rover Velar R-Dynamic Black, and it’s limited to just 500 examples. All models are based on the market most popular D180 R-Dynamic SE, which is powered by a 2.0 litre four-cylinder turbodiesel making 180 hp and 430 Nm of torque.

Now, the Velar Black gets the black exterior package, privacy glass, fixed panoramic glass roof, 21-inch gloss black alloy wheels, metallic paint, and Adaptive Dynamics as standard. Two exterior metallic paintwork are available – Santorini Black and Eiger Grey. As you can tell, there’s no trace of chrome on the outside, much to the delight of our own Anthony Lim.

On the inside, the cabin gets the Ebony Perforated Grained Leather that goes with the Ebony Morzine Headlining. JLR UK’s managing director, Rawdon Glover said: “The Range Rover Velar R-Dynamic Black builds on Velar’s sophisticated design package, enhancing it for a customer who is looking for an element of differentiation. We look forward to delivering the first limited editions in early 2020.”

Just so you know, Adaptive Dynamics is an optional system that continuously varies the damper settings, and it does so by monitoring body and steering movements up to 500 times a second. Again, this is standard for all 500 units of the Velar Black. Pricing for the limited edition SUV starts at 56,995 euros (RM262k) in the UK. Interested customers can begin placing their orders immediately, with deliveries scheduled for early 2020.
