2025 Proton Saga MC3: pair of them spied on highway

Another day, another round of spyshots of the upcoming 2025 Proton Saga MC3 – this time thanks to reader J Phuah, who spotted a pair of them on a highway (like how a pair was recently spotted at a Coldplay concert). Nothing much we haven’t already seen before, although a frontal close-up clearly shows the Ethereal Bow and a concave grille.

Here’s what we know so far – the budget sedan is expected to get, for the first time, ADAS (though most likely a basic one), and possibly LED headlamps, to match the Perodua Bezza, which has had both since the 2020 facelift. There should also be a new engine – a non-turbo port-injected BHE15PFI version of the X50 facelift‘s four-cylinder engine.

It’s been a long time since the Saga had a 1.5 litre engine, and if it’s going to continue to be marketed as an A-segmenter, that’s a rather big engine for one. Outputs could be around 99-110 PS and 125-135 Nm, beating the Bezza’s 67-94 hp and 91-121 Nm (1.0 and 1.3 litre engines).

Expect also a revised exterior (new front and rear bumpers, head and tail lamps, grille and boot lid) and interior (perhaps a new dashboard, pill-shaped air vents, redesigned air-con switchgear and the X50’s three-spoke D-shaped steering wheel), although the platform can trace its origins to the 2008 Saga BLM. All will be revealed by the fourth quarter. Excited?

If proton retains iriz and persona, I don’t see a problem to have a version of saga mc3 running on 1.3lit camprp vvt engine as currently.. unless 1.3 lit camprp engine is coming to an end which affects iriz 1.3

Proton has taken so long with the teasers for this Saga, and they still haven’t launched it.

They should launch it immediately to capture the current market share that the Perodua Bezza holds, especially while Perodua hasn’t launched its all-new Bezza.

Don’t wait too long to launch the new Saga, only for Perodua to suddenly release their all-new Bezza out of nowhere.

If that happens, the Saga will surely be overshadowed, as always.

Now is the golden time for Proton to launch the Saga as soon as possible. Otherwise, the all-new Bezza will eat into the new Saga’s sales, and it will become overlooked.

Kinda OOT, but I wonder with all of these new cars why do Proton (and Perodua) never release any utility car for commercial segment…

Excited! If Proton really decides to design & produce Saga hatchback guise, just adjust & rework on C-pillars without involving its overall dimensions.

Some 30 years ago, Saga did come with a 1.5 litre engine though not high tech but still kicking ass today. Of course back then saga was competing against Civic and Corolla (now C segment) even though smaller than the A segment it is today.

New MPV Exora should follow the new Saga development, with upgrading its seating capacity from 7 to 8 of its retaining platform.
