KL JPJ inspected 241 luxury vehicles through Ops Luxury since July – 92 cars seized for various offences

According to a report by Sinar Harian, the Kuala Lumpur road and transport department (KL JPJ) has inspected 241 luxury vehicles through Ops Luxury since July this year, with 92 vehicles seized from that total.

“This week alone, several luxury vehicles such as a Lamborghini Aventador and a Porsche 911 were seized for various offences,” said Hamidi Adam, director of KL JPJ. He added that his department issued a total of 401 notices during this period for various offences.

These include vehicles with an expired or no road tax (177 cases), no valid vehicle insurance (160 cases), no valid registration (10 cases) or displaying the registration number of another vehicle (six cases). Meanwhile, 45 drivers were found not to have a valid driving licence, with one owning a fake one.

“We will not compromise with any party that ignores regulations to the point of endangering lives, damaging infrastructure or affecting the integrity of the country’s transportation system,” said Hamidi.
