Car Buyer's Guide

Overview

The Perodua Bezza is Perodua’s A-segment sedan, a five-seat petrol saloon for buyers who want a small, straightforward car with a boot rather than a hatchback. The current D42L generation was launched in 2020, and prices start from RM34,580 for the 1.0 G MT, rising to RM49,980.

Bezza in 2026 — what's new

The Bezza carries on into 2026 in current form, with no new model planned in the near future and the existing car set to soldier on until 2030. The range remains four variants: 1.0 G MT, 1.0 G AT, 1.3 X and 1.3 Advance. Recent showroom activity is rebate-led, with RM500 off in June 2026 and RM1,500 off in July 2026.

Which variant to buy

Most buyers should start with the 1.0 G AT at RM36,580: it keeps the lower 998 cc, 67 hp petrol engine but adds an automatic over the RM34,580 manual. Pay RM43,980 for the 1.3 X if you want the larger 1,329 cc, 94 hp engine. The RM49,980 1.3 Advance has the same listed engine output and automatic gearbox as the X, so on paper you are paying for trim, not mechanicals — check the equipment list.

Verdict

The Bezza is easy to understand: small sedan body, five seats, petrol power and a price that begins below the Proton Saga’s RM38,990. But the 1.3 X and 1.3 Advance cost more than that rival, so the higher Bezza variants need to be justified by the stronger engine or their trim. The 2026 story is continuity, not reinvention.
