The Axia’s 2026 updates are price-led. August reductions cut the 1.0 G by RM4,700, X by RM1,500, SE by RM1,000 and AV by RM500. Earlier 2026 campaigns also advertise Axia discounts, at RM500 in June and RM1,500 in July. Which variant to buy

Most buyers should start with the G at RM33,900. The X costs RM38,500, the SE is RM43,000 and the AV is RM49,000. All four listed variants share the same 998 cc 67 hp petrol engine, CVT automatic transmission, front-wheel drive and five-seat cabin, so the RM15,100 spread is not buying more power or extra seats. On paper, pay more only after checking that the higher trim’s equipment suits your needs.

Verdict

The D74A moves the Axia on significantly from its predecessor. It is bigger, safer and more grown-up, while the cabin, ride and refinement are much improved. It remains a straightforward 67 hp 1.0-litre CVT hatchback, so performance is not its main draw. Its appeal rests on low entry cost and inexpensive ownership, particularly for buyers taking their first step into new-car ownership.
