Mahindra REVA Halo EV concept debuts in Delhi

mahindra-reva-halo 047

This rather stumpy two-door, two-seater coupé is the Halo, the latest concept car from Mahindra’s EV arm, REVA. Introduced at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, it showcases what a sporty REVA EV could look like, in contrast to the urban micro cars they currently produce.

The Mahindra REVA Halo’s short overhangs and large wheels give it a rather aggressive stance, although the tall, upright greenhouse means it still looks more like a micro EV than a full-on sports car. It features the usual concept car detailing, such as LED head and taillights, air vents in the fenders and hidden door handles. REVA says that it has consulted both Pininfarina and Bertone for the car’s design.

The black-and-white interior is dominated by dual touchscreens, including one, weirdly, used as the instrument binnacle. Ventilation is provided by distinctive dual round air vents located on either side of the dashboard, with the space in the middle taken up by a speaker. Sporty bucket seats trimmed in black leather with orange accents and orange ambient lighting complete the interior.

Power comes from a 104 kW (140 hp) electric motor propelling the car from 0-100 km/h in around nine seconds and the top speed is quoted at 160 km/h. A boost function cuts the acceleration time down to under eight seconds. Two models are planned – the top-of-the-range model has a range of 200 km, while the base model has a range of 100-150 km.

While the car is still a concept at the moment, the company states that development of the powertrain and the final design is already underway.

    • Haa haa Copy Porsche 911 Design Trademark (window). Pity to Proton, has been more than 20 yrs still dont have Design Trademark till today.. look at Audi, Merc, BMW they all has one. They keep this trademark since 1st car they make.. Now Kia follow with K5 & come up with K3 & ditch Forte design. Mazda also have since 1st Gen Mazda 3 & 6.. Toyota & Honda also have…

Proton Designer Engineer so blind coz they didn’t realize it till today.. How important was “Window Trademark” in car design.

This looks like a mini Agera in 1st glance!!! The size is too small though like a Mazda MX-5 or the Lotuses.. stretch it abit more it will look nice, fierce and tidy.. Mahindra and Tata is designing some really nice car indeed..
