Hyundai’s BLUE-WILL concept is scheduled to be displayed at the 2009 Seoul Motor Show this year, which will start on the 2nd of April 2009. Looks like Hyundai decided to create some kinda 4-door CRX of sorts.
Under the hood is a hybrid powertrain much like the Kia Forte LPI Hybrid, but much more beefed up, since its a concept. The electric motor alone puts out 100kW, or 134 horsepower, and this is addition to a 1.6 litre engine that has gasoline direct injection, which should be good for another 120 horses or so.
Like the Forte LPI Hybrid, power for the electric motor is stored in a Lithium Ion Polymer battery pack neatly bundled with the fuel tank under the rear seat in order to maximise luggage space. The upcoming Elantra LPI Hybrid will also feature a Li-Po battery.
Hyundai has also incorporated dye-sensitized solar cells in the panoramic glass roof to generate power for the batteries.
More details at the Seoul 2009 show, look after the jump for two more photos of the BLUE-WILL (Blue Whale?!).
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
This is one car company that usually translate its concepts to reality. Remeber the Kira Forte LPI Hybrid was once a Concept 2 years back? Now a reality.
Looks very cool. Hyundai is going a step further from time to time.
do not underestimate korean, they r getting better each day. Look at Samsung, one day probably will over take Sony.

i believe in many markets.. LG is already no.1 in the LCD TV biz, overtook all the japanese.
wow. lovely!
^^^IMO LG is better than Samsung
sekali tengok, dar belakang ada iras-iras Gen2 lakdepan mcm Honda CRV baru…tapi yang ni memang comei..
nice! koreans are slowly achieving their vision, "Beat Japan!"
Samsung overtook Sony in profitability quite a few years back already! You can buy the book at Kinokuniya or elsewhere. "Sony vs Samsung: The Inside Story of the Electronics Giants' Battle For Global Supremacy" by Sea-Jin Chang.

FYI, Samsung have already overtaken Sony for the last few years. In term of profit, inovation & market size.
nice car but looks like a copycat… from the front looks almost like the honda accord's headlights (elongated a bit), back lights maybe like gen2 and the back profile looks like the toyota prius.
i see some mazda concept lines about this hyundai..korean autos have every potential to grow to the top of the line.in the not so distant future..it will be joining the stable of BMW/LEXUS/MERC….dudes the korean electronics industry from the consumer's point of view during the last few years was never thought of as inferior to the japanese (and you know the consumer is a manufacturing company's largest asset), in fact many of us know they have pioneered a lot of new technologies, you can also say the same to the taiwanese….so any anti japs out there do educate yourself a bit more.
If I did not see the badge, I thought it was a Mazda or Honda concept car.
The big, dark piece in the front should have teeth, and the grill red. Then it would look like a goofy smile. :) While we're at it, I think they should change the position of the door handles. And make prettier trunk lid seam. Outside passenger mirror too small.
On more serious note, the styling looks distinctive – not cookie-cutter. But they need something on the lid of the trunk to create laminar flow air-stream and better improve economy. If this cost $15,000USD of fewer, they will never make enough of them. Make mine white, please!
… Oh. I forgot. I read survey that Americans and Asians like cars that frown, look angry, or mean. Smiley cars don't sell. There is no 5mph bumper in front, so any carelessness will be costly. I still hope it comes here.
hope it gets to msia soon…will definitely buy one…
this is a good concept from my favourite auto maker.beachboi_the lights dont look like any accords, infact u have no reason to say it does but elongated.
