Team Need for Speed’s 1,100 hp Time Attack Scion tC

Team Need for Speed (formed by the good folks at Electronic Arts, maker of the Need for Speed game series), has a new car for the Time Attack series in the US – a 1100 hp AWD Scion tC! The race car will feature an all-wheel drive setup and has been custom built by Chris Rado. The reason it looks like a tractor is because the large front and rear wings are there to create as much downforce as possible.

Scion backed Rado, who has his own World Racing team, also built a 899 hp tC for Modified magazine earlier this year. A professional racer by trade, Rado is approaching 60 career wins as a US based pro race car driver. He currently takes part in NHRA, NSCRA, Pacific Street Car Association and Full Throttle.

More information about the powertrain has yet to be provided, but for now enjoy the picture gallery after the jump.

The front wing is too big…bigger wing means bigger drag…its that necessary to be that big?

Oh~! Front Wing is the aerodynamic design to increase the down force for this 1100hp beast…..

since the car was not originally a supercar with aerodynamics..so they need the extra spoiler.

the backlights on this are soo much better than the original… take away the spoilers and the vinyl and that’s how the production scion tC should look like :)

How come the Japs never do something like this for their Tsukuba time attack? Or is it totally unnecessary for a track like Tsukuba?

i bet this car is not that agile in a technical circuit.. maybe this one is for an oval track time attack. wonder how it corners. will easily spin off. because the spoilers are useless when the car slow down for corner.

in tsukuba, for sure evo or impreza will beat this monster in the twisty section of the track la..

The front wings could have easily chopped the poor pedestrian legs or any cats/dogs crossing the road!

Race it next year at piker peak and give monster Tajima a run for his money. He has been winning the race too many times already. Make him eat some dust.
