German meisters Alpha-N Performance has produced a tuning package for Porsche’s Cayman to create what they call the Alpha One. Apart from packing 800 hp, this mean machine features carbon fibre composite body panels that resemble the ones on the upcoming 918 Spyder. This results in a sub-1300 kg kerb weight, which translates to a power-to-weight ratio of 615 hp per tonne. By comparison, a Bugatti Veyron manages 440 hp per tonne.
Not much else has been divulged, but we can see that the Alpha One is altogether lower and wider, with an especially long rear overhang reminiscent of high-power 911s. At any rate, we will have more details as the car nears its launch date in the weeks to come.
Alpha-N Performance’s engineers are from the former Brabham Racing, and as such have considerable tuning and motorsport experience.

Reminds me of the mighty 959…
What? Cayman with ENZO bumper…?
cayman all is ok, except their RR looks…wonder how is it like with this Alpha N?…
wishlisted…
let’s see the top gear guys trash it out in the german autobahn with the bugatti veyron with the stig. or do a straight mile drag race… someone should call tony stark to suit up in his ironman suit too for the ride
Cayman has always been the best handling Porsche ever, despite being one of the best handling car in the world. With Porsche’s ego, the Cayman will always been using the less powerful engine than 911, because the Cayman can simply outrun a 911 if given an engine with the same power output. That’s what I like about Porsche though.
However, I wonder if Porsche ever use Cayman with this bodykit to compete in LeMans and endurance race series, could give more challenge to rivals perhaps?
