Yet another sported up offering on display at the Australian International Motor Show, and it’s a potent track-ready Subaru BRZ, developed by New Zealand-based Possum Bourne Motorsport (PBMS).
The show car features driveline and suspension modifications, including an electrical kit (wiring, circuit breakers and lightweight battery), a Cusco height/damper adjustable coilover suspension and a brake package consisting of AP front/rear rotors and calipers as well as an STI handbrake.
Also on, Recaro winged-HANS seats and Enkei 18 x 8.0 lightweight wheels wrapped with Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R motorsport tyres.
Subaru Australia says it has no current plans to re-enter the motorsport arena, but the overwhelmingly positive response to the BRZ had brought about a huge level of enquiry from motorsport enthusiasts, and
PBMS has developed packages for the car that should answer those calls quite nicely.
Three track-ready packages are available, with the entry-level one putting on a roll-cage kit, Recaro motorsport seats, Sabelt six-point harnesses and fuel system modifications, including lines and connectors. The package also dresses up the car with carbon-fibre lightweight parts, including the door panels.
The upscale package further adds on to the above with the items seen on the Sydney show car, and the third option throws in a complete performance parts package, including engine and gearbox enhancements, priced to suit individual requirements. Options abound though, because customers are able to kick things off at an entry-level price and then cherry-pick components to suit their purposes.

I’m not sure if anyone remembers, but Possum Bourne was a rally driver from New Zealand who had a long relationship with Subaru. He passed away nearly ten years ago in a road accident.
