Ford Ranger – price increase for auto XLT variant

Ranger

Sime Darby Auto Connexion has announced a price increase of RM1,000 on the automatic variant of the T6 Ranger 2.2 litre XLT. The XLT automatic is now priced at RM96,888, on-the-road with insurance. The increase is applicable for 2013 vehicles only, according to a post in the Ford Ranger Malaysia Facebook page.

The announcement also states that the waiting period for the automatic version has grown to three to six months, and that the pricing and waiting periods for the manual 2.2 litre XLT remain unchanged. Presumably, the 3.2 XLT Wildtrak continues as is, with its long wait list.

Better remains the same for 2.2 XLT manual, as SDA already removed auto head lamps and rain-sensing vipers, which can be found in 2.2 XLT auto and 3.2 Wildtrak.

Overall, it’s the best pick up truck on the market. It’s incredibly popular globally and Ford have struggled to keep up with demand. They stopped taking bookings on the 3.2 last year when the waiting list went over a year.

Go and test drive it. You’ll understand.

Yes, the best in its class at the moment in Malaysia. But, will they keep on increasing the price when the sales pick up? Don’t copy the move of big brother; you know he is notorious for enormous greed, don’t you?

  • But here in sarawak( miri bintulu area ) only saw few of them. Seem to be unpopular with d local, maybe cause by the small cc engine or long waiting list. But the last gen sales very good. Now the big selling one here are isuzu, toyota and colorado.

    Hi Guys
A good truck, BUT…reliability still an issue, had a auto tranny replaced just 30000km, can you guys believe that and what’s more also issues with tranny related problem now laying idle in ford workshop.
The thing is that you guys better watch it, i am just relating this so to make you guys aware of the auto tranny. Considering Isuzu Dmax. You have been warned.
