Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak teased, to race in June

Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak

Amidst all the buzz surrounding a certain French supermini‘s imminent local entry comes an example you don’t want to mess with. Teased in this set of images is the Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak, which will be unveiled in full later this month before it competes in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in June.

Among the details we can pick out are a carbon-fibre body with flared wheelarches, side exhaust, roof scoop and a big rear wing. The stripped-out, roll-caged, no-nonsense interior houses a carbon-fibre racing seat, a steering wheel flanked by shift paddles and a digital readout.

The 208 T16 Pikes Peak is also expected to have 4WD, and nine-time world rally champion Sébastien Loeb will compete with the car in the Unlimited Class. In 1988, Peugeot won the event with a 405 T16 driven by Ari Vatanen.

We were fortunate enough to be there last year – learn more about the ‘Race to the Clouds‘ through our string of posts.

      • i agree. they both look pretty much the same if you ask me. it sort of reminds me of the range rover evoque, it looks good both 5 door/3 door, so it doesn’t matter whichever one you get, unless you dont really use the back seats.
