2013 Isuzu D-Max X-Series launched – only 300 units

Isuzu D-Max X-Series KLIMS 8

Isuzu Malaysia chose KLIMS13 as the venue to introduce its limited-edition Isuzu D-Max X-Series pickup. The special, which made its Thai debut last year at the Thai Motor Expo, adds a fair amount of cosmetic bling to the truck.

Exterior elements comprise front and rear skirts, side steps, a cargo spoiler and a bed liner, as well as an X-Series edition grille. The vehicle also gets side steps, body stripe decals on the bonnet and tailgate, with grey-coloured 17-inch alloys wrapped with 255/65 profile rubbers completing the outlook.

Inside, the X-Series features dual tone red/black seats dressed in Italian leather, complete with red stitching and an X-Series logo on the front seats. The variant also gets a 6.2-inch touchscreen player with GPS navigation, a reverse camera and dedicated X-Series carpet mats.

The X-Series edition is based on a top-spec 2.5L 4×4 double cab – no mechanical changes, the 2.5 litre VGS turbodiesel continuing on with the existing 136 PS at 3,600 rpm and 320 Nm of torque from 1,800 to 2,800 rpm. Only 300 units will be available, in a choice of two colours – Magnum White Solid and Stallion Black Metallic. The D-Max X-Series is priced at RM108,690, on-the-road with insurance.

DMAX best in fuel efficiency, I dont think Hilux is so brave to drive 140-160km/hour in wet / raining condition.

  • Isuzu Dmax shares its ladder chassis platform, body construction, mechanical componentry and interior design (dash, centre stack, steering wheel and doors)with North American Chevrolet Colorado,
A-pillar on back Isuzu Dmax appears to be a clone of Chevy Colorado.
Four-cylinder 3000 cc 4JJ1-TC iTEQ common-rail diesel engine with VGS Turbo which now has the power of 132 kW with 380Nm of torque.
