Greetings from Tokyo! The 43rd Tokyo Motor Show is set to kick off on Wednesday, but ahead of that, Lexus offered a preview of its RC Coupe at its Lexus Welcome Event at the Ryokogu Kokugikan earlier in the night.
Two variants of the 4,995 mm-long luxury sport coupe have been announced, the 3.5 litre V6 RC 350 and 2.5 four-cylinder hybrid RC 300h – the version on display at the event was the RC 300h, previewed alongside the TMS version of the LF-NX, which will debut a 2.0 litre turbocharged mill.
No tech details have yet been divulged, but as mentioned in our earlier post when the car was first revealed, the IS 350‘s V6 develops 310 PS at 6,400 rpm and 375 Nm at 4,800 rpm, while the IS 300h‘s electric motor and Atkinson cycle four-cylinder petrol engine offers a combined output of 223 PS and 300 Nm.
We’ll have more details on the front-engine, rear wheel-drive offering when the time comes, but in the meantime, enjoy the first live photos of the RC (there was no access offered to the interior, in case anyone’s asking). Apologies for the less than super pix; they were snapped with a phone’s camera. It does look very tidy in the metal though.

seems we have 4 brands on the same chassis now.
toyota 86, subaru brz, scion frs & lexus rc 300h
As much as it has been hoped that the RC is based on the same chassis of the Toyota 86, it is on fact a two-door Lexus IS.
