Fiat 500X first official photo leaked ahead of debut

Fiat-500X-leak

The first official image of the Fiat 500X crossover has found its way online ahead of its official debut at next month’s 2014 Paris motor show. The new 500X will be the third new model in Fiat’s 500 line-up, after the original 500 launched in 2007 and the 500L in 2012.

It will be based on the same platform as the Jeep Renegade and is expected to be powered by a selection of engines from the Multiair and Multijet range. The Fiat 500X will most likely come with both front and all-wheel drive options along with a choice of six-speed manual transmission, a dual-clutch gearbox and a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Fiat’s new 500X will be competing against rival small SUVs such as the Nissan Juke, Honda HR-V and the Renault Captur when it goes on sale by the end of this year. Expect more details to trickle in as the official debut gets closer and closer to the car’s official unveiling in early October.
