SPYSHOTS: Audi Q3 facelift captured testing

Audi Q3 FL 1 marked

The Audi Q3 compact crossover SUV has been with us for the better part of three years now. As a result, it’s expected that Audi is working on a facelift to keep it fresh up against the Mercedes-Benz GLA and the BMW X1. A prototype with minimal camouflage has been photographed, presumably undergoing endurance testing.

Don’t expect a raft of aesthetic changes to present themselves as the camouflage only hides what must be a reworked front and a refreshed rear. Look closely and you’ll be able to see that the headlight design has been altered slightly, with the LED daytime running lights embedded into a single bar.

Judging from the photos, the facelifted Q3 could also sport a new front grille design – something along the lines of the new Audi TT, perhaps? At the back, the rear lamp clusters have a slightly different design compared to the current Q3, allowing for a more contemporary look.

Technical specifications are expected to carry over from the current-gen Audi Q3 with a possible minor upgrade in terms of engine output. With prototypes of the next-gen BMW X1 already driving about, expect Audi to pull back the covers on the refreshed Q3 by the first quarter of next year.

Just when our local Audi launched the 1.4 model their HQ is about to release the FL version….haha really lah we Malaysians always get the short end of the stick.

Piece of advise for Audi Malaysia…in the future just release the 1.4 model together with the 1.8 or 2.0 models like how you did it with the A3. Most of us customers do not want to buy models which are no longer ‘fresh’.
