Renault Fluence rear teased on FB – what could it be?

renault-my-fb-fluence-teaser

Renault Malaysia’s official Facebook page has posted up a teaser image of the Renault Fluence‘s rear end, with the caption “Coming your way soon. Stay tuned, Renault Malaysia fans!”

While it’s clear that the image features a Fluence, we don’t see anything different from the standard car, so perhaps there are changes elsewhere that are yet to be revealed. A special edition perhaps?

To recap, the Renault Fluence was launched here in May 2014. Locally assembled at Tan Chong’s Segambut plant, the C-segment sedan is powered by a Nissan-derived 2.0 litre engine with 143 hp and 195 Nm, paired to the Japanese brand’s smooth Xtronic CVT gearbox. It is priced at RM115,000 OTR without insurance.

To get rid of 2014 cars (or pre-FL cars). Clear stock. The price has gone back up, or will, once the stock is gone.

Did the Fluence lost its European feel as its using the same drivetrain with Nissan Syhphy?

European feel? What is that? The way it rides and handles? Not really influenced by the engine. Also Nissan engines are used in Renaults sold in Europe, and Renault engines in Nissans (and Mercedes).

I’ve seen then on the road but frankly, I’m surprised not to see more of them. At the prices and discounts these are selling at, its one of the most value available now, given its comprehensive maintenance and service package.

If anything, I’d rather have Nissans tried and tested powerplant rather than some finicky french unit. At least spares won’t be an issue.

To be honest, if I’m looking for a French sedan, I would rather this than the 408.

agree, the new front can support the lines of bodykit much better …. with bodykit, the car looks menacing.

I’d say it’ll be the facelift… and it can’t come soon enough. Finally fix that front end…

why shouldd one buy this car ,

it has old slyphy engine ,

paired to worst resale car brand in msia ,

there are so many cars around can buy , why this,

i saw once in sunway seberang jaya shhoplot ,
that one and only one ……

no different , why should one buy this car , with the
    engine output so-so for 2.0 ?

is it feel proud using a merely new car from same engine from the old slyphy many years back

this car in 2009 already being produced and sold in other country………….

why should one buy this car?
now they making like it is brand new ,while other coutry already got the new facelift some years back?

    if they sell this variance,
Fluence GT, using a 2.0-liter 180 hp (134 kW) named Renault TCe 180 associated with a 6-Speed Manual Gearbox.

if they sell this 180hp model, then it stands out , and a different choice …….

there no point selling this 143hp 2.0 cvt………..

and tan chong really though msia people stupid ,selling the car that late few years as new model here

    • Please don’t go there.
You’ll let hell loose as a few very popular, GOD like cars have the same engine since day 1 paired to a new body per facelift formula.

Paultan.org says if it ain’t broken, why fix it?

It is still a competitive car for people who want to play it safe. Who want reliability. The service pack is great, it’s well equipped (from Toyota only the Altis with safety pack can compete, and that is 40k more!).

This is the conti meant for typical buyers of Japanese cars. Nothing wrong with that. Is RV not so good? Yes. But you save 30-40k upfront, in the end this car will be cheaper to run and own, bad RV already factored in.

I think I only saw this car on the road once ever since they launch it…heck the Mercedes Benz S400 Hybrid is more common on the road than this Fluence haha.

It is something called Black Edition or Black Series.
    Engine remains the same.
Interior: Mocha color leather seat (normal is black color), black painted deco instead of aluminium silver at dashboard, gear knob, gear knob area, handbrake push button.
Exterior: Rim color become light black darkened, little tweaking of skirting, and add reverse sensors.
Color: Only black as it is Black Edition.
