The Vision Gran Turismo family of virtual concept cars has grown one more with the new MINI Clubman Vision Gran Turismo, which will appear in the Gran Turismo 6 racing game for the PlayStation 3 as part of a free software update available now. MINI’s VGT follows on from a host of other concepts from Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota, Chevrolet, Infiniti, Mazda and Alpine.

As the name suggests, it’s a considerably pumped-up version of the upcoming Clubman, losing two of its six doors to become a race-ready shooting brake of sorts. The front end is dominated by a large splitter, gaping air inlets, large driving lights incorporated in the grille and X-shaped LED headlights designed to replicate the taped-up lights on vintage race cars.

Broad shoulders and muscular wheel arches bookend the four corners of the car, reaching out to cover the 22-inch bicolour wheels. Bringing up the rear, there’s an enormous rear diffuser, integrated twin centre-exit exhausts, ribbed-effect rectangular LED tail lights and a double tailgate spoiler. Racing details like the bonnet snap fasteners, quick-release fuel fillers and a small sliding window complete the look.

With 395 hp channeled to all four wheels through a six-speed sequential transmission, the Clubman VGT goes from 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds before reaching a top speed of up to 290 km/h. Fully-adjustable dampers feature front and rear.
