This year’s Worthersee show is set to welcome the striking Volkswagen GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo – looks like the Seat Ibiza Cupster Concept isn’t going to be the only one to go topless at the show.
Joining a line of futuristic concepts you’ll be able to pilot in Gran Turismo 6, including from BMW, Toyota and Mercedes-AMG, the GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo is based on the Mk7 Golf GTI, but features a 3.0 litre twin-turbo VR6 TSI that develops 503 hp and 666 Nm of torque, and a seven-speed DSG.
4Motion sends drive to all four 20-inch wheels, which are wrapped in 235/35 tyres up front and 275/30 tyres out back – they conceal 380 and 356 mm brake discs respectively. The vehicle is kept on the ground by an integrated rear diffuser, a huge rear wing and an elaborate front splitter.
Worthersee will also play host to a Golf GTI Performance Concept that’s been developed from start to finish by 12 apprentices in nine months (see last picture in the gallery below).
