One-off Audi RS3 Sportback gets carbon-fibre wheels

This really does look truly unique. Audi Forum Ingolstadt (AFI) has unveiled a real one-off Audi RS3 Sportback equipped with a range of enhancements that include a set of wicked carbon-fibre wheels and an airbrushed engine compartment on the hood.

Apart from the fancy wheels, the bespoke RS3 also features carbon-fibre front and rear splitters, along with LED illuminated quattro lettering on the lower front grille. There’s also a carbon-fibre surround for the front grille and the door mirror caps as well.

The carbon-fibre treatment doesn’t end there though, as on the inside, there are touches of the lightweight material on the steering wheel, cup holder, seat shells and even the ashtray. AFI says that all of the car’s plastic mechanical parts have also received the same paint as the body or a lacquered glossy black look.

If you have forgotten, the RS3 Sportback features a 2.5 litre TFSI turbo five-cylinder that does 367 PS and 465 Nm of torque. The 100 km/h sprint is done in 4.3 seconds, through a seven-speed S ironic dual-clutch transmission. This one was the mightiest hatch of all for a short time, up until Mercedes updated its A 45 AMG to 381 hp recently.

General cars (non-sports) series 0-100km/h classifications. Is that how we consider general cars’ performance today?

    09-12s : Camry/ Honda/ Nissan
    07-09s : Ford/ VW/ Peugoet
    05-07s : Audi/ BMW/ Merz

yes and no. they layman will look at 0-100 numbers.

But what makes a car a flexible drive is the 60-100 and 80-130 times (on top gear). This is why turbo and big CC cars drive so much more relaxed.

We unfortunately have been saddled with a CC based road tax system, so unless you have a turbocharged engine, most cars come with anemic engines.

A C and D segment with the base engines will likely be in the 12s, while in North America, a 2+ tonne family MPV will do 8 secs with the more accepted 3.5L V6 in the class.
