KL City Grand Prix organiser GT Global Race promised that all structures relating to the street race, along with the temporary facilities, will be cleared by the end of the week, reported The Star.
According to CEO and president M Arrasu, dismantling works had already commenced since the race ended 11 days ago. The roads in which the KL City GP took place include Jalan Ampang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Perak and Jalan P. Ramlee.
Safety fences, barriers and temporary seats are among the structures used at the KL City GP. Arrasu said work could only take place after 10.30 pm at night so as to avoid peak traffic in the city. “We have to stop before the morning traffic opens to ensure smooth flow of traffic during office hours.” he said.
A week ago, city traffic police chief ACP Mohd Nadzri Hussain said that contractors were advised to carry out work from 11pm to avoid causing congestion, however should traffic be heavier on other days, removal works were only to take place at midnight and come to a halt by 5 am.

Only one word describes this – STUPIDITY .
Totally agree with you.
Those who support this are either not staying/working in downtown KL or they are so selfish never give a thought about other people’s inconveniences.
Slimebags like Arrasu should be banned from organising such events. Waste of money and time. Inconvenienced the whole of KL business community.
PT you haven’t posted a picture of the GT girls :(
wth so long ar it takes to remove these scrap? 11 days has past already.
Where is DBKL or whoever approved this race to begin with? There should be strict time limits and penalties enforced. Come on DBKL, are you dumb enough to only take money when the organizers want to setup the race, but not when they’re late in taking the stuff down?
